Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation
Part 2: Emotions, Thinking & Awareness

Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation (Part 2) is a three-week course designed to support the practice of mindfulness, helping us develop the skills and attention to be fully present to our lives and to touch deeply each moment of living. It is intended for those who have completed "Introduction to Mindfulness and Meditation (Part 1)" ( please check the FCM calendar for Part 1 offering dates) or who otherwise have a foundational understanding of and experience in the basics of mindfulness and meditation.

This course is for those who seek a continued exploration of mindfulness with a focus on awareness of emotions, thinking and the mind as a whole, with further integration of mindfulness into our daily lives.

The potential of these practices is to bring more awareness, calmness and peace to our busy lives, and at a deeper level to enrich and transform the way we live.

Part 2 Learning Objectives:
  • Practice mindful meditation, expanding from our focus on the breath and body to systematically explore the awareness of emotions, thinking, and the mind and as whole
  • Apply mindfulness to difficult emotions and thinking so as not to get caught up in the dramas they produce
  • Cultivate daily meditation and mindfulness practices so that mindfulness becomes a integral part of your daily life
This three-week course will begin on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 and meet each Tuesday, through October 28, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Classes will be held at the FCM Practice Center, 6501 N. Nebraska Avenue, in Tampa. The cost is $40 for all three sessions. If you have questions, please contact us at info@floridamindfulness.org.
