July 9 – August 27
This seven-week summer Mindful Living Path Intensive will provide an opportunity for FCM members who participated in the Winter/Spring Intensive on Mindfulness Practices for Emotional Healing (or a similar FCM intensive in the past) to continue the journey of emotional self-awareness and healing so that we can live our lives with more presence, joy and ease.
In the fall of 2017 we began our journey with the Mindful Living Path Foundations of Mindfulness and Meditation Intensive. We were then able to apply these foundational mindfulness practices to our emotional experience in the 2018 Winter/Spring Intensive. Grounded in mindfulness we learned to be more present and open to strong emotions (such as anger, fear and sadness) instead of our habitual patterns of pushing them away or being swept away by them. Holding these feelings in awareness we began to look deeply into their origins in our past conditioning, identify the misperceptions that feed them, and see clearly their true nature of impermanence and insubstantiality.
In this self-directed summer intensive we will be applying the practices learned in the previous intensives to specific areas of our lives where we still find emotional reactivity. We will continue to cultivate our mindfulness and deepen our exploration of the themes, patterns and sources of our emotional suffering. Through our consistent and joyful effort, and the support of Dharma talks, readings, personal guidance from mentors and a Forum with Fred, we will continue our journey of healing and transformation, developing wisdom and compassion for ourselves and others, and learning to live with greater ease and well-being.
