St. Petersburg Sangha

Day and Time: The St. Petersburg Sangha meets every Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:45 p.m.

Monthly Orientation: Newcomer orientations are offered the first Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m.  It may be helpful but it is not necessary to attend a newcomer orientation prior to attending weekly sangha.

Location: Unitarian Universalist Church, located at 719 Arlington Avenue North, St. Petersburg, Florida 33701.  The Sangha meets in Gilmour Hall which has an entrance located to the right of the main church entrance (up the ramp).  The church faces Mirror Lake and parking is located on the north side of the church. Directions can be found at the church website.

History and Description: The St. Petersburg Sangha offers participants an opportunity to pause in their busy schedules to join others in mindfulness meditation to support living mindfully. We practice in the engaged Buddhism tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh and meet weekly for meditation, mindfulness practice and Buddhist teachings.

Format: Please arrive about 10 minutes early. Enter the meditation room quietly, remove your shoes, and settle in. At 7:00 p.m., we will practice mindfulness sitting meditation for 30 minutes, walking meditation for 15 minutes, and then listen to a Dharma talk or participate in a Dharma discussion.
