Have you ever noticed a voice inside you judging, comparing and criticizing you? Its tone harsh, sarcastic, righteous, or bitter? Do you ever get an awful feeling that you’re not good enough, not talented enough, somehow not acceptable or worthy?
Many of us have an inner critic – a voice of criticism and judgment that is directed inwardly towards ourselves or outwardly towards others. This relentless inner voice blames, belittles, shames, attacks, and sabotages. It has the potential to block confidence and creativity, and undermine our relationships, spiritual practice and well-being.
In this workshop we will explore the inner critic and how it operates within us, and learn to distinguish between the process of judgment and our capacity for wise discernment. As we face the inner critic with understanding, mindfulness, courage and compassion we begin to experience freedom from it, allowing for a more open and spacious way of being in the world.
