Half Day of Meditation in Recovery

This half day is open to everyone, whether you are just beginning to meditate or have been meditating a long while. Individuals in Recovery programs and anyone else are warmly invited to attend. The theme for the day will be Who Am I When Nobody is Looking | Opening our heart as we observe the self through mindfulness.


We’ll have guided meditations with instructions, related talks, and Q&A. At 12:30, we'll break for fellowship and lunch. Please bring your own vegetarian bag lunch.


The day will be led by Marilyn Warlick and Ruth Fishel.


Marilyn is an LCSW recently retired from the VA Medical Center. She worked for over 20 years teaching in residential and outpatient substance abuse programs and homeless programs. She has been a practicing member of Florida Community of Mindfulness for over 10 years. She is a retreat and workshop leader and teaches for Meditation in Recovery.


Ruth has been meditating for over 38  years and has over 44 year of sobriety. Ruth leads workshops and retreats and is the author of a number of books. Some of these include: Time for Me: Daily Practice for a Joyful, Peaceful, Purposeful Life and Time for Peace: Peace in Our Hearts, Peace in the World. Ruth is a member of the Florida Community of Mindfulness.
